Flirt Turns One at Divalicious 3

Flirt Custom Lash Studio celebrated it’s 1 st anniversary as a Sponsor for Divalicious 3 on Monday August 15th at C Lounge. It has been a fantastic first year for Flirt! Sommer, the Owner of Flirt, is a confessed lash junkie herself and was on a constant search for the perfect mascara. Her search ended while on a trip to NYC in the spring of 2009. Hoop Instructors Wanted!

Hooping Instructors are wanted for a new studio opening up in the Mississauga Clarkson area this Summer.  Start date- ASAP.

In addition, we are looking for dance instructors to teach bellydance, hip hop or any other genre of dance.  Hourly rates are based upon experience.

Please describe your upcoming conferences coming up in Toronto and the GTA.  Why should women attend?
Our most anticipated event is the Toronto JCK which is Canada’s largest jewelry where we get to meet with Ontario’s most influential network of retailers.  Unfortunately, the JCK is only for vendors, however we will be at the National Women’s Show in Toronto this November, which is a fabulous shop till you drop event for women.

Last but not least, we will be attending Divalicious 3 for the first time, and we are very excited to participate in this event.

What constitutes your company, as being a Diva or representing women?
The best way that we represent women is that we give them the opportunity to fully express their accomplishments, individuality, and style by creating fabulous jewelry that is one of a kind.  As women put together their bracelets with charms that symbolize special milestones, events, and people, they are in fact telling their special story that symbolizes their lives.

What are your top three tips to help women get fit, have fun and feel sexy?
Be confident, do your best, and most importantly have fun doing so!

Spontaneous, passionate, entrepreneur

Tell us a bit about yourself: the true Diva.
Living a healthy balanced lifestyle is something I believe in and thrive for.   I am currently a Masters student at University of Toronto in the medical field. Outside of my studies, teaching dance/fitness is my passion! I also find the time for my hobbies: capoeira, biking, traveling, and latin dancing! I love a challenge and am always ready to spice up my life with trying something new and exciting!

How did you get into teaching dance/fitness?  Tell us about your experiences in the industry.
My teaching dance/fitness path started when I attended a DivaGirl class as a student. I had such a great time with the ladies, made friends, and on top of that got an amazing workout! I started attending every class offered in my area. Over a period of several months, these classes have helped me grow as a woman, gain confidence, feel sexy, and get in shape! All of this while having fun! So I decided to share this experience with my girlfriends and soon after, with the community. I started with teaching just one class a week and 6 months later I, now, teach few classes a day 6 days a week.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my students come to class motivated and excited to see what we will be learning in class as well as seeing those big smiles when the class is over!

Why did you decide to join DivaGirl?
DivaGirl is an amazing all-in-one stop for women. It has everything from entertainment to workshops, classes, meetings, resources, and much more. DivaGirl is well connected and provides women with great benefits and opportunities! This is the only company I know of that has it all together in such a great organized manner! Tell us a bit about the classes/workshops that you offer to the DivaGirl Community.
The classes I offer to the DivaGirl community are mostly in Richmond Hill/North York area and include everything from Pussycat Doll Dancing to Strip to Fit, ChairFit, BollyFit, Hip Hop, and latin dancing.

Why should women attend your DivaGirl classes/workshops?
To get inspired, motivated, get a great workout, meet other ladies and make friends!

What constitutes you as a Diva?
Heels and a butt swinging walk- need I say more?

What are your top three tips to help women get fit, have fun and feel sexy?
- Pick an activity you like – this will motivate you to do better! Push yourselves when needed!
- The words of wisdom I live by are:  “It’s easy to give up”. So, challenge yourself and don’t give up!
- Love yourselves!.. and always be yourselves!

Are there any upcoming workshops/events/projects that you are working on, that you would like to share to the DivaGirl community?
For the very first time in Canada, Sexy BachataFit for ladies only!  Listen and enjoy the sexy beats of bachata while having the workout of a lifetime as well as adding sexiness to your dancing! The Sexy BachataFit workshop will take place July 23. Place and time TBD.

DivaGirl Revolution Netherlands meets Flirt & Licious!

DivaGirl Fitness is going to the Netherlands!

The Netherland DivaGirl revolution will be in cooperation with Flirt & Licious - a start-up web community founded by Martine Boerboom where females can read and learn about high-class flirting in the most widespread perceived way you could think of. The higher purpose of the community is to share collectively ´our black book of flirt secrets´ for members and fans of the community. Click here to read more about the Flirt & Licious project!

Flirt & Licious is not only looking for ladies that want to become an active member of the community, but is also looking for 2 interns that would like to work on contributing to the success of the community. These interns will be working with DivaGirl (in Toronto) and Flirt & Licious (in Amsterdam). This is a great opportunity to work with international business expansion.

Flirt & Licious is looking for 2 interns for the following activities:
a) setting up an annual social media campagin for facebook/twitter and linkedin
b) interact with the active fanbase on dayly basis by answering questions/lead discussions and providing ´recent´en interesting content that fits in the flirt and licious concept
c) using multimedia (video/podcast) for sales/marketing purposes to increase the fanbasis
d) update the static flirt & licious content of the ´online magazine´ on 2-weekly basis
e) become a flirt & licious expert who is a consultant of the active fan base

This position requires for a minimum of 10 hours per week that have experience with:
1. social media campaign plan for facebook/twitter/linkedin. Other social media experience is an extra
2. internet marketing/social community marketing
3. likes to write, read and “flirt”
4. has affinity with female subjects and fashion and likes to write/read and advice about. It is important that you understand the target group and have similarities with the target group of the Flirt & Licious fan base 6. has an open, creative and entrepreneurial mindset
5. is a great organizer, disciplined and accurate
6. originates from an Angelsaksian country where the first language spoken is English

1. What are three words that best describe you?
Positive, Friendly, Outgoing

2. Would you describe yourself as sexy, flirty or fun? Why?
Personally I would describe myself as all three. Just like any other woman out there I’m an ever changing person therefore my personality is constantly evolving. Being sexy, in my opinion, is by having a clear mind, being able to laugh at all your faults and questioning ideas/thoughts. Confidence makes me flirty. A lot of times music helps to boost my confidence, even when looking my absolute worst, I carry myself with a confidence. This confidence also helped me snag my boyfriend, and yup I was wearing sick and didn’t look so hot. Listen to some good music and let your hips swing as you would on the dance floor. Dance on the subway if you want, I do. Being flirty is being confident. I’m fun because I love to try anything at least once. We only live once so why have limitations. Why bother with what people think about you? Live your life for you and you only.

3. What do you do to get fit, have fun and feel sexy?
I love going on hikes alone or with my best friend. That time is the perfect time to reflect. Also, just recently, I have started meditation.  Being sexy is also your state of mind. Clear mind, equals success and confidence.

4. What are three things that you can always find in your purse?
My blackberry, Mac lip-gloss in PRRR, and sunglasses.

5. What’s your definition of a Diva.
Someone who is secure enough to stand up for what they believe in. Being down to earth and always in the know about everything that is happening around you is also part of being a Diva.  As well as, giving back, having fun and maintaining a positive clear mind while staying completing fabulous. 

6. How does being a DivaGirl make you feel empowered?
DivaGirl is the only company that I know that has everything a woman would want and need. They are so well connected and the community of DivaGirls is amazing. DivaGirl helps to empower me by being a fun, interactive company that helps to enhance and make me a better person in all aspects of my life. Laura the founder really believes in this message and it’s evident in the way she talks about DivaGirl and how DivaGirl is presented in events and even in the fun classes. Being able to take part in company that really believes in its mission statement is a great thing. Plus who wouldn’t want to build their self esteem and confidence 

7. What’s your favourite company on DivaGirls D-VIP listing?
I personally love them all because they are all so different yet so connected. But if I had to choose it would be Diva-preneur, as I one day hope to own my own business/brand.

8. If you could have a girls night out with one celebrity, who would they be?
Khloe Kardashian, she seems really down to earth and just seems like she would be a great friend.
