Yoga Etiquette

Yoga Etiquette

·         Refrain from eating a heavy meal two hours before practicing. A full stomach can hinder the practice of postures and breathing. (Arrive well hydrated and bring more water for the class!)

·        Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in and wicks away sweat

·        Kindly refrain from wearing perfume or cologne, due to allergic reactions to fragrances

·        Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before class starts

·        Remove footwear prior to entering

·        Please avoid being late, but if you do arrive late, come in quietly and center yourself in savasana before beginning your practise

·        Please turn off all cell phones and communication devices

·        When you come in, place your mat down in rows, lie down and begin your centering

·        Observe silence before class begins, as many students enjoy this time for meditation and centering

·        Inform your teacher before class if you have any injuries or physical concerns

*Please bring your own mat, but if you do not have one, there are a few available to be borrowed for the class.

**Contact your physician before entering a new fitness program.  Yoga will affect each individual differently.
